THIS AND THAT'S

There are some days, that I just paint, what I call "This and That's." Yep! Nothing in particular.  Just painting!!  Will the elements become a surface pattern? Of course, at some point.  I have so many "This and Thats", I use for creating surface patterns.  Even though, I paint freehand, I also use the popular software products called "Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator."  I can not live without the my Adobe products.  An Artist, Designer, and Illustrator can do so much with the software programs.  In fact, if an Artist is going to be involved with wholesale manufacturers, she/he needs to know how to use Adobe products, like they know the back of their hand. So, much goes into designing, I would need to write a book to explain everything to you.  Afterwards, I would need to write book 2, 3 and, so on, because a creative individual is always learning new techniques in order to work with wholesale manufacturers. Learning new techniques should never end... just like freehand painting.

If you are following my web blog, I hope my painting and writings encourage you to pick up a paint brush, watercolor paints, watercolor paper and, start painting.  You will have so much fun!!!

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

Sincerely,
Franchelle

A LOVER OF PATTERN

Hello Everyone.  Well, I am back on the blog again.  I will probably post off and on while I freehand draw and paint.  Since, I have been away from creating, because of the car accident, it takes me a while to create my surface patterns. Little by little, I am getting my Mojo back.  I really like the pattern, I created above, it's very trendy.  Blue and orange audition so well together.  I did not realize how much I missed my paint brushes and watercolors.

Life is good and, I am thankful for everyday.  Wishing everyone a blessed week.

Until next time....

Sincerely,

Franchelle

LIFE - ART - INSPIRATION

I can find inspiration just about anywhere.  The surface pattern above is my interpretation of the roses my husband gave me for our wedding anniversary, last Thursday.  I never draw or paint the actual likeness of the subject.  I like to mix it up and use my own imagination.  I also like trying out new products from time to time.  On Saturday, a few new products arrived at our doorstep.  This week, I'm trying out watercolor paper, Artistico by Fabriano and, new pan watercolors by Sennelier.  I actually, love both products.  I believe they are keepers.  As an artist, I tend to purchase way too many art supplies, although, I do enjoy trying out new papers, mediums and, techniques. With doing so, it keeps the artwork fresh and new.

I am really excited about returning to freehand drawing and painting.  In the days ahead, I hope you will come along with me, so we can get to know each other.

Well, summer has come and gone.  I am looking forward to Fall.  How about you?

Sincerely,

Franchelle

STARTING OVER....

Has there ever been a time in your life where you had this feeling deep down inside, that you needed to step back and exam your life (Maybe, you're right where I am now). To figure out, if you're going down the correct path.  Well, that's what happened to me a few months ago.  I had to really look at my life, to dig deep down inside my soul, to exam and ponder, where I was going, to look at where I want to be on a personal and creative level.  So, I did just that, I examined, pondered, cried, laughed, screamed, danced, and prayed, until I came to a place where My Heart, My Soul, and the Child within me, the child that wants to play, to not take life and creativity, so seriously, would be free once again to explore life and, all that it has to offer.  As you can see by the artwork above, it has changed considerable from all the artwork that I have blogged about in the past.  I have stepped back, about 10 years, to a place where I first started creating artwork, with paint brushes, watercolors and, ink mediums.  I know this is how I will move forward, with a paint brush in my hand, colors splashing every which way on my art table and, with a smile on my face.  It's ironic, that we need to step back in order to come full circle, to a place, where we need to be in life. I know, the best is yet to come...until next time...

Sincerely,

Franchelle
